Knotted Passion Bracelets

My newest creation in crafting are my Knotted Passion Bracelets. This are created for you and  show what you are passionate about. Each one is created to be as individual as the person wearing it. You can choose your favorite colors and also choose from a dozen words that I have in stock.

There are three stands of square knots in three different colors that are attached to a silver metal washer with the word engraved on both sides. A sliding knot closure was added to the bracelet, making it adjustable to fit a 6 to 8 inch size wrist.

“Macrame is an ancient craft, which originated in the 13th century in the Arabic countries, as weavers started knotting the excess threads on loomed fabric. Naturally, people started calling the knotted edges macrame, which translates as “fringe.”

As an art form, the knotted patterns became very popular among sailors, who started tying knots of rope to decorate parts of their ships. That contributed to the spread of macrame products around the world.

In the 1960s, hippies gave a new life to macrame products, using the knotting techniques to create clothes, accessories and household items.

Over the years, different cultures have adopted the usage of knots for decorative purposes. Chinese knotting, for example, is a distinctive art form and is one of the most popular characteristics of the Chinese Culture. Scoubidou is also a knotting craft that originated in France. At first it was a children’s activity, but its implication ideas are only limited by one’s imagination.

Macrame does not use special tools such as hooks or needles. It only uses several knots combined into different patterns to create a wide variety of decorative and practical items. Because of the unlimited number of patterns and product ideas, macrame can present a challenge to craftsmen on all levels.”

Words that I have in stock to choose from are:

Karen is a fiber artist with skills insewing, tailoring, knitting, crocheting, tatting, quilting. Her interest in these crafts began many years ago and the skills were passed down to her through her family.

Some of my favorite items in Karen’s shop are her bath accessories. Everyone deserves a bit of pampering now and then. You can pamper yourself with a set of hand knitted 100% cotton yarn wash cloths. The cloths are knitted in a textured pattern, which is wonderful for gentle exfoliating.

Always losing that bar of slippery soap? Try one of these pretty lacey soap saver bags. This is such a wonderful idea, the bag is used as a wash cloth. You just slip a bar of soap in the bag and close it with the drawstring. The bag is also hand knitted from 100% cotton yarn.

I saved my favorite bath accessory to show for last. A perfect set for a facial, a headband and 4 petite facial scrubby cloths. This splashy set is hand knitted from 100% cotton yarn in a tangerine orange with fushia and green accent flowers.

Be sure to stop by SewKlassicto find all Karen’s creations.

Happy July 4th

Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941. The tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution (1775-83). In June 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies then fighting in the revolutionary struggle weighed a resolution that would declare their independence from Great Britain. On July 2nd, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later its delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson.

Freedom over Texas Celebration

From 1776 until the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence. All around festivities involving fireworks, parades and concerts are common. Family and friends gather together celebrating with outdoor barbecues and picnics.

From here in Texas, I hope that everyone has a happy and safe July 4th!

Diamonds are a girls best friend! So are all the precious, semiprecious, gemstones, pearls, diamonds, crystals and top quality beads that are used for the pieces designed and created by this very talented husband and wife team. They work together to design each piece as unique as the person that will wear it. This one of a kind diamond crisscross ring will make an exceptionally special gift for your engagement, wedding anniversary, April’s birthstone or a 10th wedding anniversary. (hint, hint!)

My favorite piece is this stunning azotic blue mystic topaz necklace. The inspiration behind this piece, “ Azotic Blue Mystic Topaz surface enhanced designer gemstone necklace that will make friends and strangers alike stop and say “WOW.” The mystic effect is achieved by using a clear natural quartz gemstone with a durable and permanent mystic coating applied to the backside of the stone.”

Be sure to stop by MaggieMays. I have only shown you a couple of the beautiful pieces. You can also read more on their blog, MaggieMays fine jewelry.
